The Bobby Bones Show's Eddie Garcia Walks the Distance for National Angels Foster Care Fundraiser

The Bobby Bones Show’s Listeners Raise More Than $50K To Date

Hyundai Joins Effort with $10K Donation and Transportation for Four-Day Event

LOS ANGELES, June 7, 2021 - iHeartRadio’s The Bobby Bones Show – the No. 1 Country morning radio show in the U.S. – recently announced that co-host Eddie Garcia will walk from Bluefield, West Virginia to Bristol, Tennessee from June 21-24, 2021 as part of a fundraiser for National Angels, a national non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children, youth and families in the foster care community.

Garcia, who is a foster parent to two young children and is on the National Advisory Council for the non-profit organization, was inspired by the George Strait’s song, “Carrying Your Love With Me,” in which he sings: “‘Cause I’m carryin’ your love with me, West Virginia down to Tennessee…”

When the fundraiser was first announced on air on May 24, The Bobby Bones Show’s loyal listeners donated more than $30K in one day, which more than tripled the program’s initial $10K goal. Since then, Hyundai heard about the fundraiser and donated an additional $10K to the cause, bringing the current total to more than $60K. Hyundai will also provide a 2022 Tucson as  transportation to West Virginia to kick off the walk, and for the show’s executive producer Scuba Steve to follow Garcia back to Tennessee.

“Once I saw how quickly our amazing listeners stepped up with their donations, I knew that we were getting ourselves into something really special,” shared Garcia. “This isn’t an easy walk, but seeing all the support for a cause that’s extremely close to my heart is all the motivation I need. Time to start walkin’!”

“As partners of The Bobby Bones Show we jumped at the opportunity to help raise money for such a worthy cause,” said Angela Zepeda, CMO, Hyundai Motor America. “We’ll be following along during the walk as our all-new 2022 Tucson helps guide Eddie on his journey.”

“What is so powerful about this fundraiser is that Eddie is not just walking in honor of his children who are in foster care, but on behalf of the 430,000 children and youth in the foster care system across the country,” said Susan Ramirez, CEO and Founder of National Angels. “We are so honored to partner with Eddie and The Bobby Bones Show, and each person who donates because they are directly impacting the foster care community.”
