Carly Fiorina Announces She Earned A Spot in CNN Debate During "America Now with Meghan McCain" Appearance

LOS ANGELES, September 1, 2015 – During an appearance on America Now with Meghan McCain, GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina got word that CNN had amended their GOP debate criteria, thus allowing Fiorina to participate in the upcoming Republican primary debate on September 16.

In addition to thanking her supporters for putting pressure on CNN, Fiorina also discussed how she plans to take on Donald Trump; why she’s a Republican and how she plans to reach young voters; what she feels are President Barack Obama’s biggest failures; and sexism in the media.

Below is a highlight from the interview today, September 1, along with a link to download the full audio.

McCain: “…What do we have to do to get you on the debate stage on September 16th in primetime?”

Fiorina: “…Well, you know what Meghan?  Literally, as we’re speaking, I just got a text that CNN has amended their GOP debate criteria.”

McCain: “…Shut up!  Does that mean you’re going to be on the debate stage?”

Fiorina: “…All this pressure worked. So here you are breaking news…you know what, good for CNN and I’m so appreciative for all the support and the pressure that our grass roots supporters put on CNN, because I’m quite sure it made a difference. ”
