LOS ANGELES, May 13, 2026 – Premiere Networks announced today the launch of “Nation States with Yates” hosted by foreign policy strategist and former White House national security advisor Steve Yates on The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Podcast Network, effective immediately.  

“Nation States with Yates” is your personal national security advisor: translating global politics, foreign policy, and geopolitical risk into clear, Main Street common sense. In each episode, Yates draws on his decades of experience across government, policy, and advisory roles to break down how decisions are made at the highest levels, and what they mean for the United States and the world.

The debut episode of “Nation States with Yates” is available now, with new episodes releasing two to three times a week on iHeartRadio and everywhere podcasts are heard. The podcast will also be available in “The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show” podcast feed.

About Steve Yates

Steve Yates is the CEO of DC International Advisory, where he analyzes strategic risk and public policy across key regions worldwide. He is also a Senior Research Fellow for China and National Security Policy at The Heritage Foundation.

Before returning to the Heritage Foundation, Yates launched the China Policy Initiative at the America First Policy Institute. He previously served as President of Radio Free Asia and as a Professor in the Practice of International Business and Politics at Boise State University.

Yates has advised multiple presidential campaigns and served as Chairman of the Idaho Republican Party. During his tenure, he was an active member of the Republican National Committee and co-chaired the 2016 Republican Platform Subcommittee on National Security.

From 2001 to 2005, Yates served in the White House as Deputy Assistant to the Vice President for National Security Affairs. In this role, he contributed to the development and execution of U.S. foreign policy priorities and provided direct support to the Vice President and his national security advisor during White House deliberations.

He began his career as an analyst at the National Security Agency before serving as a Senior Policy Analyst at The Heritage Foundation from 1996 to 2001. Yates holds a Master’s degree in China Studies from the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and is fluent in Mandarin.
