People Shines Spotlight on Johnjay Van Es' #LovePup Campaign

LOS ANGELES, May 9, 2017 The Johnjay & Rich Show’s Johnjay Van Es was featured in a People story about how he has combined the power and reach of his nationally-syndicated radio show with social media to find forever homes for more than 500 dogs with his #LovePup campaign, which was launched in 2015 and has garnered celebrity support from music artists like Selena Gomez, Zedd and Enrique Iglesias.

“I would post pictures of them up on my Instagram and I would find homes for them right away. It just started evolving from that. It was never a burden. It was always fun and passionate and organic and real,” Johnjay told People.

The Phoenix-based host chatted with People about how his family has transformed their home into a rescue center, and the rewarding experience his three sons get from caring for the dogs and matching them with families. Johnjay also discussed how he’d like to expand their efforts by launching a #LovePup chapter in every city.

About #LoveUp/#LovePup
#LoveUp is an accidental movement started by Johnjay Van Es. Auto correct changed his friend's text from "love it" to "love up," and the phenomenon was born.  The social media campaign is a way to remind people to pay it forward and spread the love. Proceeds from the sale of #LoveUp T-shirts, hats and accessories raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the #LoveUp Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to nearly 400,000 kids living in U.S. foster care. In 2015, #LoveUp was expanded to #LovePup, which raises funds and awareness for rescue dogs.  For more information, visit www.johnjayandrich.com.
